I searched the internet in the hopes of finding a comparable scarf and I always had to read the small print before finding out that advertised ‘100% mulberry silk’ was almost always satin or rayon or a polyester mix – apart from never finding a genuine silk scarf of the same size as Love Story for less than £120.
I thought that it wouldn’t be fair to factor into the price the thousands of pounds I paid for photography, product inspection, shipping, insurance and customs charges. On the sample test quantity that I wanted, the per-product-cost would have added another £40.
So if I was to add in the cost of producing the scarf ring, the boxes, printing and the cost of free packaging and postage it would be legitimate to set the price of this offer at around £180 – but no…
I thought that setting the price at about a third of that would provide more sales and it made sense to set the price for the long term at £60 – which would still generate some profit to spend on future advertising – but no…
However, I’ll do without paying for advertising just yet. What I need most during this short test period is to add as much honest customer feedback as possible to this page and I’ll strip out the profit element until I have enough. So, although you’ll be under no oblgation to respond, after you’ve enjoyed Love Story for a while I’ll email you and ask you for your opinion of it (quality, value for money etc.) A selfie of you wearing the scarf would be great.
What this means is that I need to make you ecstatic!
Today the price is half what it will be when I have all the product reviews I need, so there is a real reason to grab it while it’s still at this crazy low price.
