Bored by my reflection
If I glanced in the mirror on my way out (and I tried not to!) it wasn’t that I looked terrible really – I was just bored by my reflection.

Maybe I was a bit slow on the uptake but it took a friend to show me how one special fashion accessory could be used in a score of different ways to create any number of terrific new looks. I was surprised to learn that I could refresh and invigorate all my clothes, my hair and even my handbags with the imaginative use of a large silk scarf.
But – to really look the cat’s whiskers it had to be the genuine article, not some cheap imitation and I quickly found out that genuine mulberry silk didn’t come cheap.
Fakes in their listings
I found out the hard way that even the biggest and most trustworthy retailers on the internet had fakes in their listings. I now know that even a skimpy, handkerchief-sized scarf priced at £15 is not mulberry silk even if the seller says it is.
For even small genuine scarves you will typically pay over a hundred pounds.
How different and happy it made me feel
To cut a long story short, I found something special, it was real silk
and I fell in love with it.
I simply loved how different and happy it made me feel when I wore it and I decided to buy a limited quantity of them and add them to my ”amabargains’ range so I could offer them to other people and put the bounce back in their step too.
The insanely low price

When I first saw this I just said ‘Wow!’ – and when other people saw me wearing it they said ‘Wow!’ too.
I fell in love with its versatility
I looked on YouTube and found scores of different ways to tie it. I wore it to work, to dances, when I went out in the evening and I wore it to the beach. I tied it to my handbag. I wore it in bed and in my hair. I wore it around my waist, around my neck and I wore it as a shawl. I fell in love with its versatility, its softness, how it shimmered and its transparency – and, yes, my man did notice it!
Everything in my wardrobe suddenly took on a new life
I found new combinations of ways to enhance the way every garment looked. I’d kicked ‘drab’ into the dustbin forever and felt a new confidence every time I went out.
Basically, I fell in love with this scarf.
